MUSIC
Denis Beaumont is a bilingual songwriter and multidisciplinary artist based in Montreal. He began his musical journey as a drummer and later joined Patriotes, a Quebec rock band that featured Johnny Gravel (guitarist for the legendary French-Canadian group Offenbach) as a full-time member. The band also shared the stage on several occasions with Gerry Boulet, one of Quebec’s most iconic rock singers.
Driven by the desire to become a singer, Denis pursued formal music studies at Cégep de Ste-Foy (in Quebec City) and at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), where he had the chance to study voice with world-renowned operatic bass Joseph Rouleau. Wanting to sing his own songs, he also learned to play the guitar during that time, and began writing lyrics and composing melodies.
For two decades, he earned his living as a singer-guitarist, performing in bars and private events, all while nurturing his dream of sharing his original songs with a broader audience. In the early 2000s, Denis chose to step away from performing as a career to focus fully on songwriting. It’s in this role—as a composer and lyricist—that he truly found his voice.
Now writing in both English and French, he continues to pursue his creative vision with persistence and passion, determined to bring his original songs to life and share them with the world.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography entered Denis’s life as an unexpected but powerful artistic avenue. A self-taught and passionate learner, he quickly developed strong technical skills and built a solid professional presence in the field.
A photographer for over 15 years, his freelance work for Métro newspaper gave him valuable experience across a wide range of photographic styles. He has also worked extensively in the corporate world, producing portraits and covering a variety of events.
